Have you checked for codes. If the light is on there is a code to let you know why it is on. The light does not come of or go off just because you have changed fluids. he computer has detected a fault and is alerting you to the problem by displaying the check engine light.

Yes, there is still a problem of some kind. Go to a major auto parts store (AutoZone, Checker, etc), they will read the code from the computer and give you an idea of what the problem is. If the light was on when you took the vehicle in for service, they should have done this. If not, I don't think I'd go back there. On the other hand, if it came on after you picked it up, that is different.

i had this problem with my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo with the brake lights it kept popping fuses right after the ignition was turned on try putting a higher amp fuse in place of the old one that keeps blowing then check for shorts to the starter and check grounds and wires and also the transmission issue check the fluid and then if the fluid is fine change the transmission filter the filter may have not gotten replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and may be clogged or dirty

97 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3 engine. The transmision just started slipping. The fluid level is fine and there are no leaks. There are no check engine lights on. Was running perfectly. What is the problem?

I have replaced alot of transmissions in thease vans, i would try changing the filter and fluid, if that doesn't help you may be looking at replacing the tranny.

When first starting off in morning it take a long time to shift to third gear.but once it does its fine till the trany cools down then its the same thing over again.

The problem is in the design of the transmission. My 1997 Ram used to do the same thing. First of all, check your transmission fluid level and examine the fluid on the end of the dipstick. Remember, you can only check the tranny fluid while the engine is running. The fluid should be red. Take note if it's cloudy or black, or has any small bubbles or debris.

At a minimum, I would suggest having the bands adjusted and the fluid+filter replaced in your tranny. It might not hurt to check the tension of the cable between the throttle body and the transmission as well. Hope this helps!

you just described a faulty Torque converter. Check the Trans fluid level with the vehicle running and at operating temp. Possiblity the Filter is clogged lowering the line pressure, Would be the first torque converter I have seen fail in a grand cherokee.
