Thanks it was just a matter of cleaning the contacts back by the wing motor. All I did was scrape them a little with a flat screw driver. That was a few months ago but appreciate the reply.

Hello there
Your problem could be the rear gear is broken. It is located on the left inside your tail under the plastic cover. To remove use phillips screwdriver and try to diconect the gear cable. If the wing goes down it is the gear.If not the gear try to lok for an relay which is on pass.side under the dash-behing knee pad. This relay controls the manual and an electric operation.

Please can you help. on our Toyota Sacio the wing mirror motor is not engaging and wont stop running.

you can try disconnect battery and see if it resets or that motor drive is stuck on , BUT before you disconnect battery get and use a memory saver (its a small device that plugs into cig lighter or power outlet) it keeps you computer memory from being lost.

I have a 93 caddilac fleetwood and the injectors

Both Injectors? If not, then just replace the one that is leaking. If they are both doing it, then check the computer or for faulty wiring. When the key turns on the fuel pump comes on, If an injector is stuck open then it will dump fuel into the engine as it is doing. If they are both doing it then something is telling it to, thus computer or wing problem.

I've never had to disassemble a Jeep power mirror. One of two possible problems here. Depends on how Jeep conveys the power to the "wing". If they use brushes and contacts, it may just be that the brushes got dirty when you folded it in [onto a corroded contact area] If this is the case, spray some penetrating oil into the gap between the wing and the base. Then fold and unfold the wing several times to clean the contact. Make sure that you have the wing pulled all the way out. There should be a detent that you can feel.
If they use a wiring harness going up all the way inside the wing, one of the wires has broken. you would need to remove the mirror, disassemble it and repair the damaged wiring.

Loose wing mirrow

Check this guide as reference for solve ypur problem; this is one DIY about replace Wing Mirror...
1.- Disconnect your negative battery cable, if your Ford Focus has power side mirrors. If it has manual side mirrors, disconnecting the battery is unnecessary.
2.- Pry off the wing mirror's inside sail panel (shaped like a triangle). Insert a trim panel tool between the door skin and the plastic panel to pry it off.
3.- Carefully pull the sail panel away, minding the wiring if the mirror is power-operated. Unplug the electrical harness and set the panel aside.
4.- Open the door and hold the outside part of the wing mirror steady. Remove the mounting bolt with a socket wrench, and then remove the mirror screw with a Phillips screwdriver (the mirror bolt and screw is visible with the panel removed).
5.- Pull the wing mirror assembly from its mount (from the outside). Insert the replacement mirror assembly in place; tighten the bolt and the screw.
6.- Attach the wiring connection to the replacement mirror. Position the sail panel in place and push it against the door to snap it back on.

Hope helps (remember comment and rated this). TY for using Fixya.

One of the two wings that pop up, while you are taking the top up and down, snapped. how much will this cost? the wing doesn't move up or down anymore.

interesting you had this issue. Same thing here, but my wing was getting "stuck" trying to come up by a piece of the car! Thought it strange fix, but the dealer "burned out" some room for it and it works now. any chance that same side had window regulator issues because I think mine was a result of somebody not fixing that correctly.

My 350z wing mirrors dont work wen in reverse can u plz help

350z's have electronic tilting wing mirrors with an on/off position for reverse gear. Some people don't want the mirrors to be adjustable while backing so Nissan put an optional switch on them for enable/disable while the shifter is in reverse position. That is how the car came from the factory. Not sure where that switch is located.
