The glow plug control unit maybe faulty. Relay might not be switching on. Or could be a broken wire somewhere.

Currently the polo4 VW 1.6 can not start even when there is enough fuel and the battery is ok. It can be like starting after turning on the switch but it then refuses, whats the problem?

sound like glow plugs not working. during start up diesel engines need preheat ignition cylinder before fuel can injected and burn if glow plugs not working diesel engine wont you see glow plug turn on when first start engine.

My fiat 1.7 diesel wont start in the mornings or when its cold.Could it be my glow plugs?

Yes ! it is possible that if the GLOW plugs are bad there will not be enough temperature generated within the cylinder. Hence it might not crank easily to start.
Secondly if the COMPRESSION is LOW then the fuel will not be ignited easily unless there is enough heat within the cyclinder.
So check the connections to the glow plugs , it must be tight and good to allow good flow of current.

Fuze for glowplug keeps popping

Remove the glow plug and connect it to a battery through an ampmeter, read what the current draw is. If it is far in excess of the required fuse rating there is a problem with the glow plug, renew it. If the current draw is acceptable there must be something else on that fuse that is drawing excessive current. Check if anything else is inoperative if the glowplug fuse is out of circuit.

My 1986 f350 6.9s glow plug system does not work at all.the light in the dash that comes on when the glo plugs are warming up does not light up at all, what does this sound like?

Glow plug setups usually have a relay to handle the high current required to power the glow plugs. This relay could be faulty, preventing operation. It may be possible to swap a relay from another circuit to isolate the problem.

My 2003 Renault Megane Scenic 1.9dci expression won't start

The funny sound you mentioned must be identified, could it be the starter trying badly to turn. Here the fault of your battery drain is that the glow plugs take a lot of current and it must NOT come ON when the starter motor runs. Hence the fault could be your GLOW plug relay unit with the auto cut off timer that is faulty. If you keep draining the battery to a lower threshold level , there is every possiblity that the battery life will be lowered . I hope the present battery rating is the recommended Amp/hr rating to give the extra run for the morning start. Next area of suspicion is the starter motor itself , it could have a bad commutator or a bush. It will be good to have a clean up and service. Finally check for excessive drain on your battery with a current check in series for the drain current when the switch if off. If the current exceeds the limit disconnect each circuit to confirm. hope this advice helps. good day

check the wiring harnesses under the valve covers. The heat damages them. Frd has connector kits to service them versus $600 harness. Some dealers know about kits, others do not.
Cycling says reays are working but glow plugs are not getting current. My guess.
