Hello! Thought you meant the timing belt...your vehicle is equipped with a distributor less ignition system...Engine timing is controlled by the PCM...If this isn't what you are requesting send a comment with a little more information...I am here!...Saailer

Hello! Lets drop back a moment...I need to make sure I have correct information...Is the vehicle a 1991 or a 1999? If it's a 1991 it can't be a Vitara...Send year, make, and model...Send a comment with as much information that you can....Saailer

    Adjustments

Signal Generator and Rotor Air Gap

    1. Remove the distributor cap and rotor.

    2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the signal generator
and one of the signal rotor teeth. The clearance should be 0.008-0.016
      in. (0.2-0.4mm).

    3. If the air gap is not within the specified range, adjust it as follows:

Fig. 1: Use a feeler gauge to inspect the signal
      generator and rotor air gap

Fig. 2: If necessary, loosen the two screws and adjust
the air gap with a screwdriver

      1. Remove the distributor from the engine, then the igniter from the distributor.

      2. Slightly loosen the two signal generator screws, then, using a flat
blade screwdriver, move the signal generator so that the air gap is within
        specifications.

    4. After adjusting the air gap, tighten the two signal generator screws snugly.

    5. Recheck the air gap to ensure that it still within specifications.

    6. Install the igniter (if an adjustment was made), the rotor and the distributor
      cap

Here are diagrams of distributor, air-gap, and timing...According to Suzuki manufacturing records the Vitare was first made in 1999...However you own a 1991...Could you send the VIN# to me for research; Also what country was the vehicle manufactured in?

My clutch needs replacing on my 2007 Grand Vitara after only 16000 miles. Suzuki Corp says if slave cylinder is the problem, it will be covered on warranty. I want this repair to be paid by Suzuki whatever...

A clutch I would think,is like brake pads or filters, they are not covered and are considered expendable.
The vehicle is 3 or 4 years old also.
I understand your issues, I would suggest you move on, and forget the Mfg or Dealer, they won't stop the world for you, or common sense.

Hi, i'm driwing suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 year 2007. it has been moving for about 50000 Kilometer and i'm planning to change the timing belt. i'm looking for the code of the timing belt so i could buy it...

All parts stores can get you the right belt with info about your truck. Year, make, model, engine size. Also spring for the complete belt or bearing kit. This is not a do it yourself task.

I want to change the timing belt on my suzuki so i need a timing belt diagram for suzuki grand vitara 2.5 petrol 1999

best bet go to mitchell or chilton on demand, otherwise buy a manual, any free diagrams will not be complete and you don't want to have to do it twice

Do i need lock tool to change cam belt on a 03 grand vitara

I'd be first confirming whether you have a 1.6 litre Grand Vitara (petrol), or a 2 litre turbo diesel. The 2 litre petrol (straight 4 or V6) or 2.5 litre petrol engines are all chain drive.
If your engine is petrol then no lock tool is required (to hold the camshaft). Of course, there is a specific position that an engine should be rotated too before removing the belt from ANY engine.
If it's diesel, then although I'm unfamilar with that particular engine, the general requirement for diesel engines with high pressure injection pumps is "yes, you require a lock tool" to hold the injection pump pulley. As I think these are a common rail set-up, this requirement may not be necessary. Check with your Suzuki Dealer, or maybe someone else here will know more. A similar question may have already been asked and answered here too.

Vitara Jeep timing and carb problems

first off its not a jeep, its a suzuki vitara, not a part of chrysler so be very specific on what you are regarding to, and the timing issue is going to make it seem like there is a carb issue, but you have fuel injection instead of a carbeurated, for that year, it sounds to me that the timing belt jumped a couple teeth and is running rough, its a fairly simple fix for any seasoned mechanic but be careful, bring it to a respected shop cause the people out there in shade tree land, will charge you an arm and a leg as well as demand birth rights to your first child
