I have ford focus 1.6 16v 2002.switching on of grounds on the engine ecm when the ignition is turned on is not happening.what could be the problem

switching on of grounds on the engine ecm when the ignition is turned on is not happening ????? You need to explain that one alittle better > When you turn on the ignition no ground's come on for the PCM - it's not an ecm . It's PCM powertrain control module. Ground's are just there , they don't come on . Be better if you state what's not working ? Vehicle cranks over or not when key is turned to the start position . No spark , no fuel pressure , does the check engine light come on when key is turned on ?

How long for the ac fan to start working? Ive noticed that the fan does not work when i turn the ac on, can this cause my car to overheat. I check the temp and coolant liquid both seems fine.

the ac fan starts as soon as the ac is switched on
the fan is provide cooling of the condenser before the radiator to prevent high head pressures in the ac compressor
it is the fan at the front of the car mand does not affect engine temp
there is a radiator fan between the engine and the radiator that will not start until the coolant temperature reaches a set temp at which point the ECM switches that fan on
if that fan is not working when the engine is hot , check for fan, coolant temperature sensor switch , fan relay, fuses or problem ECM

Does the a/c pulley turn when u turn on engine or when you turn on a/c?

the ac compressor has an electric clutch mounted on it , the outside of it the one the belt touches turns with the fan belt and everything else when ever the engine is running , the inside part the one that drives the shaft of the compressor moves only when it receives the electric signal from the dash switch for ac to run (there are a few other switches in the same pathway that could prevent it from receiving power too ) if your fan belt skids or squeals with engine running turn off your defrost/ac switch if it goes away then your ac compressor is most likely bad , if belt just continues to squeal then your belt and/or tensioner needs replaced

Ac compressor not starting. added one can of 134R and no help. had a rebuild last year of the engine and has not worked since. Thinking it might be a wire some where.

Check for voltage at the AC clutch with AC on and engine running. If no voltage there, check voltage at AC clutch cycling switch.

Fan doesnt kick off and on only when a/c is turned on

The fan is controlled by the ecu, the temperature switch, and the ac relay. If the fan comes on when you turn on the ac, the problem is either in the temperature sensor, usually located on the front of engine near the thermostat housing. You can unplug the switch and use a little jumper wire to bypass the switch. If the fan starts, replace the temperature sensing unit. If not, the ECU is either failing to ground the fan ie. the wire from the fan to the ECU is defective, or the ECU itself is defective. All of this said, you are probably better off to take it to a shop and have them read the codes off of the ECU, which should tell you what the problem is. Most auto parts places like Autozone or Checker will check these codes for you for free.

Which pins are shorted on AC pressure switch to get the AC compressor to cycle to fill unit with freon?

You should not have to do anything to charge that AC system, except to start the engine and turn on the AC to maximum, then charge the AC system, when there is enough pressure in the system the low pressure switch will trip the AC compressor on and you can continue to fully charge the AC system.

Engine overheating when ac is on

Ac fan switch is not comming on start the car and turn the ac on and see if fan comes on, if not it may be a relay sensor or a bad motor. If It comes on then look into the radator to see if there are a lot of bugs in the radiator if there is you can power wash it in reverse from the engine comparment but you would have to protect the engine.

A/C just quit working. No cold air.

there are few problem with the A/C cooling system better check for A/C unit fuse weather it is blown or in good condition, check for the proper working of A/C condencer unit fan motor assembly for proper working, check for weather their is no lick of gas any where in the entire A/C unit complete system or more problem better consult or take the vehicle to nearest Hyundai authorised workshop or better take it to a well knon or experiencied person who had done this sort of problematic work.
