You need the proper tools because the pulley and the pump are separate and you need the tool to remove and install the pulley. It takes about 2 hours.

But if you get a Used pump, the pulley is not an issue. The job would take less than 2 hours.

Why is my power steering pump still screaming?

The screaming is caused by the pressure relief valve located inside the pump body opening.

This means that power steering fluid that should be circulating through the power steering servo is partially blocked.

This could be a safety problem in the making. I strongly suggest you take it to a trustworthy shop for a checkout.

How to change 97 hyundi exel manual steering to power steering

Not economical to do this. But you need a whole new front end and the power steering pump and the brackets. Given the age of the vehicle, it may be impossible to locate OEM parts. Aftermarket is 175 to 250 for the rack and pinion, 20 for the mounts for it, 200 for hoses and tubing, 150 for the pump
