87 f-150 4x4 5.0 no spark to distributer,no power to feul relay

Hello Kenneth Pettey,

Un-LESS you are going to buy VOLUME 3 of the
FACTORY+WORKSHOP+REPAIR+MANUAL
for your TRUCK... (which I heartily recommend)

I Went on-line to BBB Industries wiring & technical service bulletin site (see below, registration required)... and found 2 (two) perfect fusible links.. on both sides of your EEC Power Relay (fuse link "z" & fuse link "n")... That make the perfect suspects
for your described problem...

"n" = 20 ga brown
"z" = 20 ga blue...

(located immediately left of the "FUEL CUT-OFF RELAY")

Please do look at the associated drawing

A simple continuity test with ANY volt-ohm-meter ought to tell you if these fusible links are NOT intact...

Otherwise you are looking DIRECTLY at replacing & reprogramming your ECM ... California = worst case scenario.
(also shown on the drawings ... not likely)

The ECM pictures & numbers are for illustration purposes ONLY...
If you live in CALIFORNIA... it is solely & completely your responsibility to assure you are in compliance with STAE LAWS ... and regulations.... (try though they may.. the envy of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT).

You must verify your application numbers yourself...
(check out rockauto (below)).

Hope this helps!!

I am in need of an Illustration of The fan motor resistor ! Please help

Providing an illustration is VERY difficult because you did not mention the YEAR or MODEL of your vehicle. On most GM vehicles, they are located in the heater-A/C housing near the blower motor.

I can answer the first question. The year of your car will run without the cataltic converters and not affect the performance or fuel milage. Your ECM is not that sophisticated. You can call a parts store and they can tell you where the ECM is located

How to set the timing on a 1995 Volkswagen jetta 2.0L

You can't "set" the ignition timing on this engine. It's controlled by the engine computer or ECM as VW calls it. (Engine Control Module) The ECM uses a sensor in the distributor and on the crankshaft to determine when to fire the cylinders. If the distributor was removed, it needs to be re-installed in a certain position and it would be too difficult to explain it here with text only. You will need to either get a repair manual or look for an illustrated procedure on the web. If your are asking about camshaft belt timing, you will again need an illustrated manual to do this.

Kia 03 Spectra fuel OBD code P0230 primary circuit failure. Relay does not pick up Fuse is good. No spark on the ignition - relay does not pick up fuse is good. What is in the primary circuit and where...

Unfortunately there are no mechanical fixes available because that trouble code indicates a malfunction somewhere in the electrical circuit for the fuel pump and that would include wiring from the battery to the pump, the fuel pump control module and the and the car's brain, the ECM. It can be a loose connection, but if one is not easily found, then the problem has to be tested with special electrical testing equipment. More information is available but I can't post an illustration of the troubleshooting for this Diagnostic Trouble Code.

There is, however, an illustration that describes that troubleshooting at this location currently:

Hello fredrickwils: My name is Roger and I will help you. The PCM or ECM is located on the passenger side of the car. Drop the panel underneath the dash. Look up behind the glove box area. You will see two square boxes with a lot of wires going to them. Drop down the boxes remove the box with three rectangular plugs. This will be the ECM. See attached picture. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it helped. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger4435087.jpg

I need to know how to change the ECM in my 1997 Chevy Caviler with a illustrated view

This isnt just a simple plug in and go job. You actually have to take a piece out of them ecm and install in the new one.

If your not experienced in this, I would suggest having someone with more experience do it.

You can easily destroy the new ECM and more if your not very carefull.
