Turn each of the other pulleys except the end of crankshaft pulley while listening for bearing noise. Make sure the belt is not 'tacky', which can cause noise when running over the pulleys. Hope this helps!

How can I stopped a moise like a belt noise that increase with acceleration in my car

if its a belt noise make sure the belt tensioner is working properly. I`m guessing this has a serpentine belt. if the belt tensioner is working properly then the belt may just need to be replaced. if its not a belt noise then it could be a bearing noise in one of the pulleys which you will have to find which component and repair or replace.

Belt tensioner replacement

try applying some belt dressing on it and if that does not fix it you may need to replace the tensioner because the bearing in it could be becoming bad.hope this helps. also try spraying some w d 40 on the tensioner around were it bolts up and try to get it no the bearing in the tensioner to see if that stops it.could be dry of grease or could be just worn and loose causing the noise. hope this helps thanks

Making aloud squeaking noise under the hood

It's most likely a slipping belt. If the belt is heavily glazed, replace it. If it is a serpentine belt, check the spring on the belt tensioner - it should take a significant amount of force to pull it back to release the belt.

Also, check the tensioner pulley, alternator and A/C clutch bearings while you are at it. If there is any roughness or play in the bearings, this could generate noise.

What is the problem if it is making a loud screeching noise when running

hi, the alternator BELT or bracket may be loose (only when drive off at speed or reving the engine, mainly first thing in the morning). can also be brakes binding (the brake shoes rubbing on the brake drums). road stone traped in between the brake disk and brake disk cover. check this item
can be front wheel bearings (worn) or dry of grease (broken rubber (boot C V joint), all grease displaced (front wheel drive car only). fan rubbing on fan housing. check this item
NO OIL IN the ENGINE and internal bearings very worn. (please check engine oil level). clean dip stick and replace take it back out and read the level (level ground only). gerry

My car squeals whil in idle but not so much when im driveing it

Get the serpentine belt inspected or replaced.

To test open hood and while its squealing spray some water on it. If it subsides for a few seconds then you know where the source is.

How to tighten serpentine belt for 2003 Monte Carlo 3.8L

the belt is self adjusted by a spring loaded automatic belt tensioner, if the belt is noisy or seems loose either the belt size is wrong (if it was replaced recently) or the tensioner is defective or one of the belt idler pulleys is defective.

My Serpentine belt is squealing above idle

first thing you need to do is get a new belt that belt dressing just destroyed that belt that stuff is no good then get a new belt tensioner clean all the pullys with some brake clean then install the belt tensioner and belt if its still sqealing there maybe a pully making the noise to check that when you have the belt off spin them by hand and listen to them and feel for any play in the bearings

The serpentine belt area is large. Remove belt and spin the IDLER PULLY of the belt TENSIONER. and listen for a bearing noise. A common failure. Hope this helps

Sqeaky noise

U replace the tensioner or any belt run pulley only if the pulley has excessive wear or the pulley bearing has noise or excessive side to side movement, if the belt is squeaking and the pulleys it runs over are ok and don't have any of the above problems replace the belt, they should be replaced every 60,000 miles are sooner in dusty enviorments like dirt roads.
