Question about Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

2000 Isuzu Rodeo LSE 4WD with Intelligent Suspension Control(ISC). I just finished replacing the wheel bearings and left front axle, since then the ISC warning lamp on the dash has come on and stayed on. Did removing the axle cause the ISC sensor to activate? If so, how do I reset it?

Hi, the Intelligent Suspension Control(TM) Minimizes Brake Dive and Body Roll Rates and Optimizes Ride and Handling Via A Dedicated CPU Which Monitors Vehicle Speed, Engine RPM, Brake Sensors, Chassis Mounted Lateral G-Sensor and G-Sensors Integrated Into Shock Absorbers; Includes Switch For Sport or Normal Mode.
So you now know that removing the axle caused the ISC sensor to activate and it can only be deactivated by the dealer......

2004 isuzu rodeo check 4wd light

post a real question.?
is this just light bulb question, or 4wd is INOP or just what.
are you using 4wd, or driving in dirt. is car on dirt or pavement.
and
(the lamp does not turn on by self)

your car is PT (part time system)
so that means its only for iced roads or off road (dirt)
or it will do bad things....
first off if driving on dry pavement leave the 4wd off.
did you turn it on??????????????
ah, nice the rear axle is Lim. slip. axle. nice.
a true 3 wheel car, with 4th wheel if one dont slip up front.
great.

Camber ajustment on isuzu rodeo 2003

if this is an independent front end the the camber can be adjusted by shims or eccentric washers on the lower arm
If it is a full axle the there are off set bearing cups available that a wheel alignment shop can fit when checking the camber. These bearing caps are available from places like Pedders and other accredited suspension shops.

Im replacin the cv joints on passanger side and driver side how do i get the axle out of the transmission casing is ther a key behind the plate with the 4 bolts? my truck is a 99 isuzu rodeo LS 4wd

remove inner cv boot, just on inside edge is circlip which holds inner bearing joint into outer housing remove circlip and separate joint outer housing does not come out of front diff unless you drop or remove whole front diff assembly
will have to remove whole stub axle hub assembly to remove drive shaft from outer wheel stub axle (hub) assembly

This has to do with the Auto's Computer system and should ONLY be done by a Factory Rep who knows what he/she are doing. not a home mechanic chore!!

My automatic 96 isuzu rodeo no longer engages in 4x4 when I shift it in. The light use to flicker when I would shift and it would sometimes engage 4x4. Now the light doesnt come on at all and 4 wheel drive...

Hahahaha!... Seriously....!?!?! First off don't try to use a scan tool. The 4WD system isn't integrated into the OBD system. You won't get any codes related to 4WD.

Most likely the problem is defective shift solenoids. There are two shift solenoids which control the engagement and disengagement of the 4WD (locking the front axle gear into the the driveshaft input). These solenoids are located on the front axle. They have their own small skid plate. One is blue, and one is gray. One controls engagement, and one controls disengagement. One is a normally closed electrically controlled vacuum solenoid, and one is a normally open electrically controlled vacuum solenoid.

I'm not blindly recommending changing these, but usually one of these are the culprit of the problems you described. I'm even more confident in those being the problem due to your explanation of the the intermittent problems. At any rate test first.

The other components of the 4WD system are the vacuum lines and the actuator which is also located on the front axle and covered by the forementioned small skidplate. Moderate to serious rock-involved off-roading with a stock suspension usually results in this component being damaged.
