Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

On my 04 Jeep Laredo, I have no brake lights. My bulbs are good, (which I replaced), but I still have no brake lights. I do not have a manual. Which fuse under the dash controls the brake lights so that I can check the fuse?

Fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box. There is also a relay there. If the fuse is good, check the relay. Also check the switch above the brake pedal.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6053280-lights_out_lights_not_out_bulbs_ok . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

If you have any extra fuses, try replacing the ones for the head lights and tail lights. Make sure the fuses you replace are the same color as the ones you replace them with, that way the voltages are the same. Another issue is that a flasher could be going out.

the easy way would be to check the bulbs elements if 1 of them is burnt all u have to do is replace it.then check the brake switch which is under the steering column u cant miss it the brake peddle rests against it when not being pressed down, which is how it works too.also check all the fuses.if all else fails start checking wires.

Right brake light is out and don't know which bulb to change

Have someone apply brakes. Observe which bulb lights in the left light housing. This is the bulb you want to replace.
