Does not crank

95 mazda 626 try to crank wont do anything battery is good it doesnt click or anything any idea what it could be

Hit it with something to free up the brushes inside the starter. If it doesn't work then replace starter. I did this with mine and it starts again

This happened to me a couple of days ago and when i showed it to my mechanic, we found out that the plastic part in the starter was broken and the three metal gears inside wont turn. i bought a new starter and it's ok now.

It could be a bad connection or a broken ignition switch maybe a fuse blew

I changed timing belt & water pump, plugs & battery. I adjusted to TDC and hooked everything back up, it turned over and quit. Now it cranks but doesnt fire. I checked timing again but it is correct. Scanned system and no errors. What could it be?

Stalled out like it was out of fuel or bad timing. Turned over and puffed and ghugged for a minute now wont run. Replaced plugs, wires. It has good spark and getting enough fuel through the rail. Maybe a...


Oh, great...just bought a '95 626 for my daughter and we're going thru the same problems. Was told to replace valve cover gasket and plugs and wires. replaced filters and put in new oil and fluids. Also read somewhere it could be alternator issues.

sounds like the starter, i dont think its siezed the motor in that short distance. try and hit the starter with a hammer or something with someone turning the key at the same time, it should start with acouple trys. if it does than u need a new starter.

98 Mazda 626 Won't Crank, Won't Jumpstart, no power on anything


Either one of your cables isn't getting a good enought contact on the battery or solenoid, or the solenoid is bad, or relay for starter is bad.
