You need to go to the local dealer and they can give you the code. Obviously the do charge a fee.

I replaced my starter on my 2002 GMC Savannah and when I go to start the van the words LOC come up on the radio. What is wrong?

You obviously disconnected the battery, your radio has to be re-coded. Loc means the radio is locked and needs a code to re-instate, did you buy the vehicle new? If not, maybe a different radio was fitted by the previuos owner

How do I unlock a radio when it displays the word LOC on a 1997 GMC Jimmy?

It is written in your owners manual. you need a code which the original owner would have written down somewhere in the manual. If no code, no radio. Only the dealer can unlock and make new code.
