Replaced battery and navigationn propt me to put a code. inputed the code and it shut off.
If you replaced your battery, you probably lost your audio system code as well. You should put that in first or your navigation system voice will not work. I assume you have the code for your audio system.
After you get your audio system working then you should be able to put the code in for you navigation system as follows:
Enter the four-digit navigation system security code, then select Done. If you have entered it correctly, the display changes to the Disclaimer screen. You have ten chances to enter the correct code. If all ten are incorrect, turn the ignition to OFF, then back to ON (II) to have ten more chances to enter the correct code (I would try this is your unit has turned off and doesn't come back on).
If you have other questions on this, leave a comment and I will investigate further.
Hope this helps you.
I also have the same problem. Was hoping someone could help. Took it to the dealer only to have them "diagnose" the problem and tell me that the entire system needs to be replaced for $4500! It does work, I've noticed that it does it when it gets hot. Was hoping to, maybe, just have some fan replaced. Please help
We have the same problem. I am going to take it to the dealer today. Even when you enter the code, the navigation will flash on, work fine then blink out and freeze up.
I have the same problem and the dealer said the only thing to do is to replace the whole thing for $4600. I called American Honda and they suggest the dealer call Honda tech line and if that doesn't work then call the satellite technical center in Chino, CA
I have similar problem with the navigation unit of my 2004, Honda accord V6, Every time I start the car, the unit works or tries to work for few minutes and then gradually freezes and tries to reboot. The dealer was not of any use except he charged me $100 and asked to replace the whole thing for $5K.
I will love to hear if any one has resolved this problem
I have the same problem - 4 days now. Someone told me to take power from it by unhooking the battery. Can't seem to remember to do that when I get home from work. Has anyone tried that?
Having same problem in Montreal,Canada. Can't access the AC, etc. The nav system is rebooting all the time and no effect by pressing the button. Really don't know what to do...Try the remove DVD, no effect.
By searching on the internet, no answer to this problem and in Canada, the honda dealer are not used with nav system. I desperately need an anwser !
Having the same navigation problem as everyone else, please help.
I have the same problem on 2004 Accord V4. It is intermittent, but since I dont use it too often, intermittent seems to be when I really need it! I am very disappointed in the amount of money I paid for it, for it to be so out of date from day one--streets that had been there for a few years weren't on it, etc. but the rebooting drives me nuts! Was afraid to remove DVD and restart it.. I will try that since I haven't done that so far. Hopefully eventually someone will have an answer... Jodi
I saw someone mention tripping the connectors taped to the wires behind the rom in the trunk, worked for a little while. Has any tried doing a system reboot at the stealership. They said they can reboot the whole cars software, but I don't want to shell $100 for something I don't know will work.
