I had that problem with my 02 Maxima and it was my mass airflow sensor. Not a cheap fix, about $550.00 from dealer or about $350.00 from auto parts store if they have one remanufactured.

Idling and die out

The should adjust the throttle of the fuel pump to control the flow of gas . if there is two much gas going to the engine while accelerating the car use to stop or it dies .the Idle should be adjusted to according to that the car can intake and exhaust properly. There is no such problem to the car but just that simple check the carburetor or fuel pump Idle and throttle. Adjust them that the car can run properly.

My 1999 nissan maxima has a rough idle and some time dies at idle

It may be throttle position sensor or camshaft sensor. Most likely the throttle sensor.

This happened to me before. You probably need to replace your mass air flow.

Nissan Xtrail 2001 model with Turbo. The AC cooling is low at idleing but works well when accelerating above 1500rpm.

This may be because your cooling pump is either cam or belt driven from the engine rotation, the faster the engine revs at, the faster and better the pump pressure is.

The higher the pump speed the better coolant flow is and the heat exchanger can work better at cooling it as it is cooled faster.

Therefor, the faster you drive, the better the output, but at low idle revs, the performance is affected - not ideal if you are sat in traffic on a hot day!

Some people consider having the pump changed to an electric motor drive, but this can be costly and not really worth it.

Hope this helps.
