There is a special tool for this, it is a square little block that has nubs on it. it is made for a 3/8 drive because the caliper piston turns in instead of pushing it in. you can find this tool at any auto parts store, at a reasonable cost. good-luck!!

Why are only two of my brakes working on my 98 bonneville pontiac?

This is a litlle strange as the master cylinder has the brakes usually set up with the fronts together and the rears together. you can see if the caliper on the front is siezed and the master cylinder frozen on the rear wheel. Does the car have ABS and if so have the lights come on

Where r the bleeders on rear brakes for 1994 pontiac bonneville

If they are disc brakes, the bleeder valve will be on the brake caliper. If they are drum brakes, look on the back side of the brake backing plate. The bleed valve will be on the brake wheel cylinder. The valves probably have a little protective rubber boot on them.

How do you retracked the rear disc brake piston into the caliper of my 2003 Pontiac Bonneville. all wheel disc brakes.

with the caliper off the disk assembly -- you can use a big C-clamp to compress the piston in. also if a C-clamp is not around, you can simply loosen the 'zerk' fitting ( the bleeder ) and push the piston hard by hand. ( note: oil will shoot out of bleeder, so put a rag over it to protect your eyes and brake parts ) -- also make sure when you put it all back together that you bleed the brake lines of all air.

2003 bonneville rear brake job. Do I need a special tool to remove pads from calipers. I have done many brakes and rotaors but auto parts person says I may need a special tool to remove pads.

Once the caliper is taken off the rotor a screwdriver can pop the pads off. New pads will have metal spring clips to attatch back on the same way.

Unable to compress rear brake caliper is this caliper shot?

There is a tool that you can buy or rent at the parts house that you can connect to a hand tool EG: 3/8 rachet to use with a tool to compress the caliper while you turn the rachet. You will see some raised teeth on the calliper piston for the tool to bite on. Since the rear brake is used to lock the parking brake it has to have a self adjust to compensate for the brake pad wear. EG: Old school drum brakes adjust when you back up depressing the brakes and letting off while the vehicle is rolling allows for the adjuster to reset the brake shoe clearance.

How do I change the rear brake pads on a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville?

remove the caliper bolt, swivel the caliper up and slide off the rod. To push the caliper piston in to accommodate the new pads, you must get the tool to TWIST the piston in while slightly pressing the piston. Check with your local Murrays, Auto Zone for the tool loaner program. Gm W-Body rear caliper tool. Good luck
