SOURCE: I NEED TO KNOW THE TORQUE SPECS FOR THE OIL PAN ON

* If removed, install the oil pump pipe and screen. Secure with the retaining bolt(s) and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

* Place a new formed rubber gasket in the oil pan flange.

* Position the oil pan and secure with the oil pan-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 124 inch lbs. (14 Nm). Do NOT overtighten the bolts, as this will damage the oil pan, causing a leak.

Hope help with this (remembere rated and comment this help).

Are there torque specs for the transmission pan on a 1993 mercury cougar 3.8 v6

I'm sure that there are torque specs. for this. I just did both pans on my 1999 Mercury Sable with a 3.0 Duratec V6 DOHC with the AX4N transmission and both pans on that are tightened to 7-9 ft.-lbs.
I don't know if this would be the same unless it has an AX4N transmission. I hope this helps.
Good Luck!!!

Changing trans oil on my 2002 lesabre how do I flush the torque converter or should I?

In order to flush the fluid from the torque converter, once you have the transmission pan removed, start the engine and run the shift lever through the gears, then back to park. Shut off the engine. It would make sense to flush the old fluid from torque converter as you are replacing with a fresh screen and fluid.

How do i remove the oil pan on a 85 lesabre with a v8

You need to remove the transmission inspection cover under the torque convertor and also the bolts the hold the motor mounts together so you can jack the front of the engine up about 3 inches so the oil pan will slide out. You also need to take off the starter. Hope this helps.
