Revving Sound When driving down the road I here a revving sound which lasts a split second. The tachometer has no or very little movement when this happens. Normally it happens on flat ground, not when under a pull on a hill.

I have a 2006 Scion XA. Few days ago noticed revving sounds while driving the car. Originally thought engine was revving but noticed RPM gauge is normal. The humming/revving sound starts about 20 mins...

under the bonnet on the radiator is an automatic fan, now if the radiator is low or you need to replace the coolant in it or top it up but the car may need a service and let them know the problem.

Engine would stall or sometimes cut off, noticed tachometer fluctuates also

Sounds like a vacuum leak, or possibly a mass airflow sensor, or barometric pressure sensor, exhaust sensor, or possible fuel problem. My money is on vacuum leak. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Faulty idle air control valve. After you replace it you will need to reset the computer by disconnecting the ground cable on the battery for 30 seconds then re-install it and start it up it should run fine.

sounds strange. have you checked to see if you have an exhaust leak? you also may be hearing the first clues to your catylitic converter starting to break down. Check for an exhaust leak first and let us know how it looks. Thanks

Over-revving in 5th at 75mph all of a sudden

If the car rev'd up but did not speed up at the same time the clutch is starting to slip. Check the adjustment and recheck driving. When the clutch starts to wear this is how they act, only most people ignore whats happening and keep driving till adjustments won't fix it and the clutch has to be replaced. Have adjustment checked and keep an eye on it and hopefullty you won't need a clutch yet.
