I always get a new harness adapter from Best Buy or Ebay or Walmart when doing this kind of work.

Each wire is labeled and can easily be connected to the new radio.

I'm sorry but, the diagram I wanted to copy and paste from the autozone site didn't transfer over.

I have a 1998 ford explorer 4 door. bought it with stock radio removed and would like to replace it with stock radio. i have no part no# but there are 2 connectors one is long and thin(grey) with 6 wires...

The one with six wires is probably the power of the last radio and the one with 9 is the one for the speakers.
I would really recommend an after market radio as in this day and age it will probably be cheaper and more efficient. It will play mp3, bluetooth, you can hook up your iphone etc.

You will only require to get a wiring harness for the make and model of your car and you have a hot new sony, kenwood, jvc etc. A 13 year old radio may not work for you.

My radio doesn't work in my 1997 ford explorer and I have changed all the fuses. What can the problem be

If all other systems are normal on the vehicle then the radio is dead or there is a wiring problem between the fuses and radio.

Radio lights off on 1998 ford explorer

1 -Check your head light switch and turn signal switch by taping them lightly - Common problem with fords to short signal light switch/head lights and they also have radio lights/clock lights control(lights dim for Radio/clock when you turn the lights on)

If you have checked all the fuses and switchs, possible that the light bulbs have burned out. Check with a local radio repair shop and they can remove the radio and install new bulbs.
