A few days ago my 94 corica lost compression and strated to make a pinging nose? what could this be? a push rod come lose!

  1. NOTE: The crankshaft must rotate freely; if necessary check and adjust the bearing clearances.Tighten the main bearings and connecting rod bearings.
    1. Tighten the main bearing bolts in two stages.
    • Stage 1: 25 Nm.
    • Stage 2: 60 degrees.
    1. Tighten the connecting rod bearing bolts in two stages.
    • Stage 1: 25 Nm.

Metro 2000 1 liter connecting rod tightning specification


Connecting Rod Bearing Cap Nut is 26 foot pounds.
Crankshaft Main Bearing Cap Nut is 40 foot pounds.

Torque in 2 steps: Step 1: torque to 35 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque to 70 Ft/Lbs

Torque specs on 1994 jeep cherokee lardeo 4.o liter main barrings and rod barrings


Main bearings at 80 foot lbs. rod bearings at 30 foot pounds. Make sure you check clearances with plastigage before you button it up and light it. Anything out of clearance may require an over or undersized bearing. Also, on final install, use a swipe of pre-lube on bearing faces but make sure the inside of the rods and caps as well as the backside of the bearing shells are absolutely clean and dry.

cylinder head bolt torque for a DOHC Turbo 3.0L V6

92 ft lbs.

cylinder head bolt torque for a Non-Turbo

76-83 ft lbs.

main bearing caps

mark on head of bolt "9" 59 ft lbs.

mark on head of bolt "10" 70 ft lbs.

connecting rod nut 38 ft lbs.

Does anyone have the bolt torque specifications for a ford 1995 5.8L. I need the cylinder heads, crankshaft mains and connecting rod torque.


Head bolts, 105-112 Foot pounds (Final torque)
Final torque must be reached in 3 equal steps. Recheck final torque in sequence.
Main Bearing Caps, Torque in sequence Step 1: torque to 50 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque to 105 Ft/Lbs
Rod Bearing Caps, 45 Foot pounds (Final torque)

38 Foot pounds (Final torque)

The Rod Bearing Cap Torque:

Torque sequence:
Step 1: Torque to 10-12 Ft/Lbs
Step 2: Torque to 28-33 Ft/Lbs

Need troque valve for main bearing and piston rod motor 6G72 3000 ?


The info I have at had shows 60ft pounds for the Main Bearing Cap Bolts & 34ft Pounds for the Connecting Rod Bearing Cap nuts. For Bearing cap the sequence is as follows: When looking at underside of engine (bearing cap or Mono-block) and front of engine (harmonic balancer) to your left.

8 - 4 - 1 - 5

7 - 3 - 2 - 6
