I would sure hope so if they were the only one to touch it, but the factory may have to arbitrate this one. You might as well get prepared to fight for this one. Be sure you understand what they mean by oil pan plug getting rough? Put the vehicle on a lift and view the pan/plug area to be certain that it's not damage from hitting a wheel stop/curb. You will look foolish if it was the fault of a careless parking incident. Take a dated picture for the factory, to prove it was not damaged by carelessness.

Not likely. My 2001 Tribute developed a leak at the oil pan gasket about two years ago. I got the gasket replaced, but it was expensive. I would take it to another shop and get a second opinion.
