could it be because you were drunk a couple a times and pulled the key out after turning to ACC a time or two too many?
Try to not turn the key so far back as to allow the indicator to reflect the actual possitio of the ignition switch indicator...
Unless the lights and accesories are draining the battery ... I wouldnt even concern myself with the possition of the ignition switch....

Why can't I get the key in my jeep ignition to turn to lock and come out of the ignition?

It may be a malfunction in the gear selector safety switch with it saying 'hey, I am still in gear and you can't do that until I am in Neutral or Park.'

Try cycling the gear selector a few times.

What if jiggling steering wheel does not correct stuck ignition?

Pull or push the auto transmission gear selector slightly further in each direction from the "park" position. The key can not be removed unless the car is in park. If the gear selector is not in the exact spot needed - the ignition will not move to allow the key to be removed. Likewise, if the car battery is dead, you may not be able to remove the key until you connect to another car with jumper cables to energize the ignition circuits.

Good luck!

The key to my 2008 Saturn Vue is stuck in the ignition. It's stuck at ACC. There's no power to the car at all. What do I do?

I have a 2008 Saturn VUE. I had the problem where my key would not turn to off and I wouldn't be able to take it out of the ignition it was also on ACC. So even though I had power in my car it might be the same problem you have. I just kind of hit the shift up when it was in park. This should unlock the key. You should hear a click and after that you should be able to turn it all the way off and take the key out.

Key locks in the ignition in the ACC position. can't take key out

when you turn key to acc pos that is telling the ignition to go into a accessory mode which runs the radio, wipers etc... but it doesnt allow the ignition circuit to run, and the key in most vehicles will not be able to come out, this is a security protection so that you do not leave accessories on that will drain the battery. The ignition key should only be able to be removed in the OFF position.

97 blazer stuck in park and no dash lights like battery, seat belt

Check the fuses.

Some transmissions will not allow you to move the selector stick, unless the brake is depressed. If the brake globes, or fuses have blown, you can not move the transmission of out park.

My radio and shift selector light stays on when I remove the key,

The ignition cylinder has a taper at the back that move the switch in whatever position. The key has to be turned back to off. It happened to me when I pulled the key out it was still half way on but then i just move it back in place. Its a sloppy cylinder from age.
