There is also the possibility the cooling fan motor is bad. Check and see if the cooling fan comes on when you turn the A/C on , if it does run then the motor is probably okay. But if not check to see if you have power to the cooling fan motor by unplugging the connector and probing with a 12V test light with A/C on. If no power there you will need a wiring diagram from a motor manual for that vehicle. Electrical problems can get rather involved trying to find the source of the problem. Good luck hope this helps

Location of radiator fan fuse or fuse link ? Fan doesn't work.

Both should be a fuse under the hood, or under the dash, if there is a fuse link, it will be along the hot side of the wiring on the fan leading into source of power.

Radiator fan does not work

That's bad and it could be that your Electronic Radiator Thermostat is causing all the problem as it tells the fan to come on or stay off.

Where is the thermastat located on a 89 ford tempo ?

After the car has been driven until warm, say 10 minutes, leave it
running and feel the hoses going thru the firewall to the heater,
there are 2 ,if they are both cold it needs a thermostat.
If one is hot and one is alot colder , it's the heater core.
If they are both hot it's a door on the inside.
Thermostat on the 2.3 (assuming) is at the engine end of the top
radiator hose, front of the head. Easy one

Cooling fan not working consistently on 1987 Ford Tempo

You can easily install an aftermarket temp guage. Autometer makes some nice ones.
Also, find another shop. they should have told you what was wrong and advised you not to drive the car until it was repaired. To let you go in a car in that condition is irresponsible and maybe even unethical.

Radiator fan does'nt work

The radiator fan circuit also has a relay and/or temperature switch, or it could have a temperature sensor, and the PCM turns the relay on and off to actuate the fan(haven't worked on a Ford from this era in a while).Relays do contain moving parts,so this is most likely the cause(use a test light to see if the relay is getting 12v,ground,a switched signal source, and that there is continuity to the fan connector).

1992 Toyota Celica - coolant spraying out of overflow, fan didnt seem to be going on. Smells like coolant, so dont think that it is the head gasket. Temperature gauge going up now, but not at first....

There is a fan coolant temperature sensor on the bottom of the radiator, it has an electrical connector on it, with the key on disconnect the connector, if the fans run constantly with the connector off replace this sensor.

Location of radiator fan relay 1992 ford tempo gl

The radiator cooling fan relay in ford Tempo gl has been integrated into the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module) this is the black box fixed to the left strut tower with the big cable harness on it.

This relay box is commanded by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) it´s linked to every sensor in the car. (It's located behind the fuse panel next to the steering column.

The PCM supervises various conditions, including the signal that the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor sends and power up the Fan Relay into CCRM to activate the Cooling Fan.
