use a hot water steam washer .
Never use any grease remover products when washing an engine compartment... it seems you can never wash out the cleaner to the point of nutralisation ...
Visit your local FLEET business ( someone who has 5 or more maintananced vehicles in his imediate care ) and ask if he has , or , knows where to get an engine compartment steamed out... (hint; a 6 pack of beer from a local filling station will get you more than its cost in help from these guys...).

    A 6 pack of beer = $3.29
    A car wash = $ 5.75
A perfectly timed side job ?
    PRICELESS !

What do I do about diesel fuel in an unleaded tank and engine

Drain as much as possible diesel out of the tank and fill up the tank with unleaded petrol. Initially the engine will be difficult to start and maybe run a bit rough but will improve quickly. Diesel will not damage the engine but will have a affect on the first start and running of the engine until all the diesel is washed out of the engine.

Beetle 2000 wont start after washing engine 2 days ago. Can you please help?

How did you wash it? Pressure washer or just a hose? Any chemical cleaners uaed? Usually it is just water that got somewhere it shouldn't be but that usually dries out in a day or so. If you used a pressure washer it is possible you damaged a connector or wiring or even just forced water do into a connector that hasn't dried out yet.

Hi just wanted to know weres the computer box in a hyundai getz 2003 model and if I was the car with a hose it won't damage it

Hi Yousuf
-the ECU is located inside the car.
-I don't recommend washing the engine bay using hose.
-Washing the car from outside using hose is not gonna cause any damage.
Good luck

No, the problems which appear after washing the engine are usually temporary. They dissapear when the washing agent or water dry off. You can help your engine regain its funcionality by drying spark plug contacts, and Ignition module contacts.

You got some electrical componets wet. wether it is spark plug wires, coils, ecm, etc. My reccomendation is to never soak your whole engine with water like that again and let it all dry out before driving it again so the water does not cause a short and damage something.

My speedometer for my 1988 dodge dynasty keeps jumping on me since i replaced my cv axle and washed out my engine compartment

if you changed the driver side axle the problem is probaly not from what you did. but if you changed the pass side axle, which has a gear cut into it that the speed sensor gear mesh with, that you probaly damaged the speed sensor gear, pull the speed sensor out of the extention housing on the pass side of the transmission and inspect for damage.on the gear. if no damage and the wires are clean and tight ,replac speed sensor.

I have a 99 nissan quest. I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I drove it from the place i bought it and it drove really really good. I pressure washed the engine, after that, the engine has been misfiring...

That pressure washing can and probably has damaged a sensor under your hood, but I doubt that a bad knock sensor would cause misfiring. Check your other sensors, lots of them on that engine.
