Question about 1987 Toyota Supra

Clutch my clutch fluid has leaked over years and now after my car has sat for the winter when I applied my clutch and it sank to the floor. I was told that the problem was either the master cylinder or slave cylinder. I need to know where to start.

It could be either, look at your master cylinder in engine bay and look for leaks, if you find none look inside the car up under the clutch pedel, check for fluid seeping around where the pedel arm goes thru firewall and possibly under carpet

I have an 03 trooper that sat for 3 years I replaced the battery it fired rite up but it seems like the clutch doesn't work now.Prior to parking it the clutch was fine. Any help would be great.

If it is a fluid system then check if the fluid has"nt leaked out, then try to bleed the system if that fails then the clutch is stuck on the flywheel or pressure plate. Try towing the vehicle and gently release the clutch pedal so that the vehicle moves on its own accord. Do not release the clutch to hard you may bust the gearbox

Clutch travel to the floor

the brake fluid has drain out of clutch master cylinder fill with brake fluid reservoir is next to the brake master cylinder. pump pedal if spongy then bleed system with a 2 ounce syringe at slave cylinder loosen screw and force fluid to the master this will push all the air out.

It's time for new clutch set for your car. Good practice to always change the parts for clutch system. Clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing.

Clutch quit working while I was driving. It goes completely to the floor & now won't go into gear. What does that sound like happened ? Pls help I'm a women w/ no family alive

Check around the clutch master cylinder for leaks. Sometimes all it needs is a few seals and it's good to go. make sure the clutch slave cylinder is full off fluid.
If you still have fluid in the system when you apply pressure to clutch, fluid will come out where the line is damaged.
Another possibility could be that the reservoir may be out of fluid (which means you have a leak that needs fixing). Some more uncommon things that can happen is having a broken clutch release bearing or fork or release cable. just my opinion, get it looked at by a garage or friend that is a mechanic or knows cars. because if you take it to the dealer it usually will be a big ripoff in $$$. good-luck and may god bless !

1990surf clutch wont return from floor all the time wont disingage?? what the pedal ajustment free play??Ralphy

the pedal freeplay should be about a quarter of an inch. This is the area the pedal travels before the first amount of pressure is applied. have you checked your clutch fluid? if its low you should scope for leaks, check the master cylinder and slave cylinder, pull back the rubber boot and check for any fluids. i would do this only if the fluid is low. have you had any clutch work done recently?

Added brake fluid when pedal went to floor, reservoir almost dry, good brakes after that pumped them up, now maybe 1 month later lent same car to friend ,said brake pedal sank to floor & red brake light...

There is diffinatly a leak in the break system and it is most likely one if not both of your rear wheel cylinders. Need to have it checked out before it gets worse and you end up in a wreck due to no brakes.

I have a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo 2WD, 5 SP 240K miles, with original factory clutch still. My question is; Why during the winter months my Clutch Pedal loses tension and it goes (sank) all the way to the floor...

With that much play on the clutch you will need to replace the clutch and in the mean time you can float the gears by matching your rpms and your speed you may scratch a little but you can get it to the shop however its nor recommended to float gears because you can damage the gears if you do it too much.
