Check brake switch above pedal and brake light relay in engine compartment.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6053280-lights_out_lights_not_out_bulbs_ok . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

There is also a fuse to check. There is also a switch down by the pedal to check. The wires may be bad too. If it is all the lights, I'd check the fuse and the pedal switch first.

Brake light problem

Make sure you have the right bulb. I've seen several times where the wrong bulb was installed.

Parking brake light keeps going off, even when I changed the fuse twice

If you mean the brake lights, then check the bulb sockets for corrosion. Battery cleaner works for this. If the tabs are black, they are arcing. Use a paper clip and bend the tabs towards the bulb.

When i put on my brakes ,my right brake light goes out.. what would cause this and how do i fix it?

I would start by replacing the brake light bulb and then the socket the bulb goes in if the new bulb is not the problem.

My 1991 Lexas LS400: All of the dash icons light up and radio goes on/off (at the same time) when applying the brake and/or while the `car has stopped. Had new battery checked, the battery is good....

I've seen this before, the problem ended up being the brake light bulb lead contacts touching each other on the dual filament bulbs allowing back feed voltage to travel through the park/dimmer switch circuit causing the lights to activate while pressing the brake pedal. I would pull all the brake light bulbs out and look at the back of each one, if you see nothing unusual, I would still replace them all only because it could be internal to the bulbs as well. Let me know if this fixes your problem.
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

Hello im having a problem with a 1999 grand jeep cherokee. one of the top back light when one brakes it light offs. i have already tried new bulbs, and new fusus.. when i turn the lights on, both back top...

thats a missing ground on that light socket thats not working properly .. it can also be caused by a defective bulb even if new (not in your case since you have already changed the bulb)

Rear tail and brake lights out 97 Jetta

I believe this car has a bulb with two fillaments for side and brake lights, it is unlikely that they are both burnt out at the same time but possible. It is more likely that the bulb holder or a ground connection is rusted or loose. The fuse generally covers all rear lights.

My bottom brake lights dont work 2004 chevy trailbalzer

The recall on those was the boards the bulbs mount too. Remove the lenses and then the boards. See if your bulbs are good and check for fire at the light blue, or brown and white wire. Modle dependant. Good Luck

Brake lights on my accord 2005 wont work with new bulbs

The brake lights are activated when you depress the brake pedal.  When depressed the brake light switch, which is located on the brake pedal level, allows the circuit to be complete.  Check for power on one side of switch then depress pedal and see if it allows power to other side of switch.  Keep me posted
