My jeep cherikee is over heating and the trans over heat message comes on

when it comes to overheating theres too many things to list. first is your coolant overheating causing trans to over heat or is it the trans overheating causing the coolant over heating. is the fan working correctly? full of coolant and not just water?

2000 maxima runs hot/overheats and sporadically gets heat when on the gas. Otherwise no heat at all. Already replaced the thermostat, heater core, radiator and hoses...gets good flow but gets no heat and...

That is typical that the heater won't work well when the engine is overheating. Often because of low coolant, also the htr. core is the highest part of the coolant system. Bite the bullet and check for a head gasket problem-a compression test should tell you.

Why is water bubbling over in my overflow

You're overheating (bubbling) and low on coolant (no heat). You might have a leak causing the coolant to run low and that can cause the overheating, or possibly the cooling fans not turning on which can also cause overheating. Either way, you should get it looked at asap before you cause damage to head gaskets or something else.

Fan blowing but not overheating

That shouldnt be a problem. I have a 99 Sebring and it does the same thing. it has never overheated. if it is only blowing small amounts of heat you should be alright. and the fan is blowing to prevent the car from overheating.
having a heater running will help a car from overheating, it actually helps cool the engine.
