Vacuum hose is fairly cheap and can be purchased from any auto parts supply store locally. You should take a small piece to the store so they can get you the correct diameter.

Measure the length you what to replace and get it an inch or two longer in case you have to trim the ends.

REPLACE ONE LINE AT A TIME TO AVOID CONFUSION!!!!

Follow the way the original hose was routed in the engine compartment to avoid kinks in the line or the hose getting tangled in moving/hot parts.

It is a good idea to have some plastic "wire ties" to secure the hoses as needed.

If the hoses are secured with plastic "clip on" clamps at the ends, these can get brittle with age and tend to break when you try to disconnect them, so pick up a handfull of replacement ones or some appropriately sized hose clamps (can buy at the same auto parts store) before you start.

If you have trouble removing an old hose, use a razor or knife to cut the line along the length of the hose at the end. It should come off easily then.

If you have difficulty slipping the new line on then use a little spit to lube the metal/plastic tube that the hose slips over. Do not use oil or anything else that will cause the line to rot prematurely. Then push and twist until it is securely on the tube then clamp it.

Things should go smoothly from there.

How are vacum and wiper hoses connected in a 1999 olds. bravada

All most all vac lines are just push on connections. replace one at a time ..before you start take pictures of how rhey are routed so you can remember where they go. most cars in that year range have a vac hose map on a sticker under the hood some where.. TAKE THOSE PICS>>>> REPLACE ONE AT A TIME..

In f150 truck there is a small vacum hose passenger side up by the windshield. It's a small hose check really good they dry rot and it will cause your vents to switch. Also if your box is bad. It's next to the battery

I have a 87 ford mustang 2.3 . The air conditioner will stop blowing from normal vents and blow from defroster vent. After a few minutes, it blows from the ac vents again.

There is a vacume hose going from the intake manifold to the passenger compartment. This hose has a check valve and a vacume resivore. When you steap on the gas the manifold vacume drops and the a/c goes to the default mode (defrost). The hose is small like a ball point pen's ink tube. sometimes the hose rots and leaks.

1989 corvette headlights intermittently open

check vacum lines for leaks in the headlight assembly, sometimes they dry rot,the vacum lines] it has to a vacum issue. you may need to replace the vacum lines with new vacum hose. you can but it by the foot at any parts store, but you'll need to carry a peice of old one to get exact size.trace the vacum lines from headlights to the source of vacum canister, just to be sure that the canister itself isn't leaking. look for cracks in the vacum lines along the way.if you find that the canister is cracked,it can be repaired by jb weld and repainted, just to keep it original.thank you for choosing fixya.com

No vacume to turbo

Check all the vacuum-hoses, to see that none are cracked, dry-rotted or missing. One or a few leaking vacuum-hoses to other parts of the motor could cause vacuum-loss. Which would result in the turbo getting enough vacuum to operate.

Stiff brake pedal on 1985 seville

One of 2 issues. Either the BOOSTER went bad or the master. Also check the VACUM hose coming out of BOOSTER, the grommet maybe dry rotted, causing it to lose vacum. Good luck.

2001 kia rio wont maintain idle. 80k. cleaned mass air, and iac as well, any ideas? djamescc4@gmail.com

you may have a simple vacum leak. follow all the vacum hoses and look for dry rotted hoses or hoses with holes in them. like the one that goes to the mass air sensor would be a good place to start. if you find bad hoses than replace them.

When braking the engine revs reduce so far that the engine cuts out, it starts with a little difficulty but runs a little unevenly, revs dipping. It is possible to drive and behaves itself at speed but...

Sounds like an air filter cloged or a vacume leak. Check your air filter, and look at all the small hoses for rot or a break in them. Pulling in too much air will cause this also, ie vacume leak.
