Alot of these chryslers had bad cam sensors, and also needed a new reprogram installed for the cam/ crank alignment, i would install the new sensor and reset the light and if it returns then take it to the dealer for reprograming, note buy the sensor from the dealer, theres a problem with aftermarket sensors so make sure to get from the dealer good luck ,hope this is helpful.

I have a nissan murano 2005 with the code p1701 and a p0340 how can i use them to repair these codes

Nissan Murano P0340 2005 Nissan Murano - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
Possible causes- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor-
Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection- Faulty starter motor- Starting system circuit-
Dead (Weak) battery
P1701- Fuel trim

I would suggest replacing the camshaft position sensor. When the sensor fails it can cause changes in fuel system that the computer can detect. So I suspect once the camshaft sensor ivreplaced that the P1701 code will be gone.

Camshaft sensor in 2009 hhr

You should probably take the car to a reliable shop or the dealer for that problem because those codes pertain to the intake and exhaust camshaft position actuator valves - not the sensor itself. It's more than just simply replacing the sensor for that problem.

Camshaft position sensor problems

Lets start at the beginning. I doubt the trouble code said "replace the cam sensor". It probably said there was no signal from the sensor or it was out of range.
If you replaced the cam sensor, and it was the right sensor for the code, it could be a wiring problem or something mechanical with the camshaft itself.
BTW, there are two sensors, one on each cyl head.

I diagnosed a problem with my 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5 liter. The scanner gave me 2 codes: #340 ( camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction) and #442 ( Evapo emission control system small leak) Is this...

It could be difficult Mitch. It just says camshaft circuit. It doesn't mean it is the sensor. The circuit will need tested to find that problem. As far as the leak, same thing goes. You can look for that leak, if you know how to check for the problem. What is your car doing?

I received a P0340 on my 1995 Nissan Altima. It says I need to replace the Camshaft sensor. The dealers say that my car does not have one in it and that it may be in the distributor itself. Is this true....

They may be right. I cannot find the part. here is what the manual says:

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION The camshaft position sensor is located inside the distributor. On some distributors, the camshaft position sensor is not serviceable (replacement parts may not be available separately). If the camshaft position sensor is serviceable, use the following procedure.

  1. Remove the distributor cap and wires.
  2. Remove the rotor.
  3. Remove the camshaft position sensor cap.
  4. Remove the camshaft position sensor mounting screws.
  5. Carefully remove the camshaft position sensor.

To install:
  1. Position the camshaft position sensor in the distributor and tighten the mounting screws securely.
  2. Install the camshaft position sensor cap.
  3. Install the rotor.
  4. Install the distributor cap and wires.

I fix my camshaft sensor cost $548.00 at dealer they said that po133 code (oxgen sensor) need to be replaced but that code did not pull up on my scanner only p1309 what should i do?

The code po133 means o2 sensor checked slow (response 1/1). You will need to replace the o2 sensor to correct the problem. You can purchase the o2 sensor yourself and replace it at home. It's no big problem in doing it yourself unless you want to take it back to the dealer. Hope this will help.
