Those instruments are powered from the same connector from the dash wiring loom - you have a loose connection there. The instrument panel must be taken off and the connections inspected and fixed.

It's not very difficult, but you need experience - it's very easy to force it open and crack The panel, replacing it will cost you more that what you've have payed at a repair shop for the whole job.
The fault is in the wiring loom that powers the instrument panel.
A connection is loose - this has happened because either, in time, a connector has just got unhooked from the vibrations or because the plastic of the connector has been deformed by the heat. To fix that it will take just one hour in the first case or about 3 hours if a connector must be replaced.

I need to replace the a/c controls in the dash. How do I remove the dash board/ Many Thanks David 2001 Chevy astro van

I'm not too familiar with your particular vehicle, but you will need to remove the section of dash with screws or popping it out,to get to the console hold
down screws. It might be a big job,or an easy one,
depending on if they are easily acessible. Good luck.

Looking for location of bcm on 97 astro van dash

The BCM is located immediately above the heater controls inside the dash on my 2004 Astro. I know it controls the headlights and locks but not gauges. Haynes says the gauge fuse supplies it power....but I'm not going to bank on that one.
