Hello and welcome. this is caused by a bad fuel level sensor. the fuel level sensor is attached to the fuel pump assembly inside of the fuel tank. this requires the fuel tank to be removed to replace

Gas tank reads empty after filling and driving for a second. Gauge slowly starts to climb back after driving for 5 plus minutes then drops again.

the flue sense in your tank is bad most likely but it could also be just a bad connection between it and your flue gauge witch can be caused by corrosion or a lose wire

How to determine the amount of gas i am using due to a broken gas

Fill it all the way to the top, drive it for i day, and fill it up again. now you know how much you will use each day do it x 5 and you know how much you use a week. i would keep a empty plastic can in the trunk. comes in handy if you run out..

Gas gauge problems

Common problem on the 03-06 Envoy instrument clusters for the fuel gauge to go out. It's usually caused by one of two main problems, either the stepper motor on the cluster's circuit board is going out or the sending unit on the fuel pump is going out. Check out this blog post about the problem - Envoy fuel gauge problems
