Why is my 2000 chevy cavalier overheating? can a wiring problem cause the car to overheat?

there is a relay switch for the fan if not that then. Turn your AC on and if the fan does not come on then replace the radiator fan. It is easy to do and cost about $20. I have had to replace this in my cavalier at least 3 times. They go out often.

test your fan b+ and ground to your motor and see if it runs.if it doesnt it is probably your coolant fan switch located on the cylinder head or the coolant fan relay.hope this helps.keep posted.

Coolant temperature relay switch

Most vehicles use a coolant temperature sensor which is located near the thermostat directly connected into the coolant line, or near the thermostat housing, there are relays for the cooling fan which is usually located in the power distribution box under the hood.
