Possible fuel soaking is causing this. The carbon build-up on the valves and the tops of the pistons can absorb excessive amount of fuel and cause this.Have a professional fuel system service performed on this vehicle and this will help if not eliminate this cold hard start.Another concern would be a faulty ambient air temp. sensor sending the wrong temp to the computer thus making the injectors flood fuel into the engine.
Hope this information is useful to you,
Kenneth R.

I would check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and shiny when removed at the battery.

Then, I would check the amperage draw. It should be like 85 amps to 115 amps and turn over rapidly with a fully charged battery.

If it doesn't turn over well at that amperage draw, then the starter is bad. Also, if the solenoid doesn't engage and the amperage draw is too low, say 1 or 2 amps, then the starter should also be changed.

I wish you luck on this repair.

Chevy Tahoe 2000 Z71 won't start!

Just for the record, its a throttle body not a carb.
Sounds like the injectors are not getting power or a ground signal from the computer.
You would check them with a meter or low voltage test light.

Have a '94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4X4 and it starts

My suspicion is a starter going bad. Sometimes when starters get old and worn they will start good when the engine is cold but not when the engine is warmed up. Did you perhaps notice that lately is seemed to drag when you tried starting, especially warm or it seemed to crank a little slower? I'd replace the starter. Hope this helps.

Check engine light is on-starter hangs

it does sound like the starter is failing.... the next time it won't turn over.... have someone smack the starter with a hammer...while you attempt to start it... not hard enough to break it tho.
