If the fuel injectors don't work when in the run or cranking position the computer may not be getting a signal from the crankshaft position sensor.

Does the service engine soon light become lit when the car is in the run position before starting it?

I'm a little bit confused because the title says '2001 Ford Explorer' and the text says '1994 4 liter'.

Why do I have fire to the injectors but nothing coming out of them

power to the injectors means little if there is no pulse to activate the injectors. That comes from the ECM and the voltage of the pulse is controlled by the accelerator position sensor. Secondly if the injectors tips are blocked then there will be nothing squirting out when required.. So remove an injectors and have they checked out professionally. run the fault codes to check for faulty sensors that control the injector action..

Why will not the fuel injectors open on a 2002 Saturn l-100? The fuel rail has correct fuel pressure. The injectors will open when I give them a 12 volt supply in my shop.

Fuel injection troubleshooting

run fault codes to check for problems associated with the injector electrics. Check for cam/ crank position sensor as they can stop injector operation. If you have used some sort of fuel / injector cleaner then that may have blocked up the injectors with gunk needing the injector tips to be cleaned out.

Ford 2003 escape codes readed

Cauases or fault codes are not cut and dry, but here are the possible causes of codes P0316 and P0306 which are related codes.
P0316 - Engine Misfire Detected on Startup
Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine fails to start
- Engine runs rough Possible causes - Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Crankshaft Position (CKP)
- Ignition System
- Fuel Injectors
- Running out of fuel
- Fuel Quality
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) P0306 - Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/loss of power
- Hard start
- Engine hesitation
Possible causes - Faulty spark plug 6
- Faulty ignition coil 6
- Ignition coil 6 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 6 poor electrical connection
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 6
- Injector 6 harness is open or shorted
- Injector 6 poor electrical connection
- Improper spark plug 6
- Insufficient cylinder 6 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

Is there gas in the tank? Many GM fuel gauges have shown half-full when in actuality, the tank has run dry. Check injector circuits with a noid light or regular test light to see if the light flashes. If the light flashes, but the injectors are not spraying, check fuel pressure with a gauge. If no fuel pressure, ensure that the fuel pump fuse is not blown (many GM cars have the fuel pump fuse in an inline fuse holder) If the fuse is good, check that the fuel pump is receiving power and ground (positive and negative) If it is, and there is still no fuel pressure, the pump is bad, and the gas tank will have to be dropped to get the pump out. Good Luck.

I have replaced the fuel pump on my 1994 pontiac grand prix with the 3.1 litre v6. But it does not seem to be sending the fuel to the motor? In the instructions it says something about the oil pressure...

Are you sure that the fuel pump is properly installed? Have you tested the fuel pump circuits to see if they are working properly? Did you also replace your fuel filter? (It could be totally clogged up) Have you checked to see if there is any fuel pressure at the fuel rail or are you just assuming that the pump is not delivering fuel to the injectors? Have you checked your fuel injector circuits for power and for injector pulse from the EngineControl Module? Have you scanned your Engine Control module to see if you possibly have a Crank Sensor or Cam Sensor problem?

The oil pressure switch only keeps the fuel pump running once the engine starts. The fuel pump should run for 2-3 seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the "Run" position to prime the injectors. The oil pressure switch is the problem only if the engine will not continue to run on its own after it starts up.

I was driving down the street when my van just quit running. I replaced the coil, checked fuel pressure at the rail, checked spark, checked to see if the timing belt was broken, no clue!!!

Have you tried starting it with carb spray? If you have spark it should start. If it does and you do have fuel pressure (roughly 35 psi) than the next step is to check for power to the injectors and check for injector pulse.

All four injectors should have a dark green with orange wire. This is the power supply. There should be power anytime the key is in the run position or in the crank position. The other wire on each injector is grounded by the computer.

If it doesn't start than I don't think it would be a bad idea to at least pull the timing belt covers to see if the cam and crank are still in time.

Fuel pump not getting power.Replaced fuel relay and pump. computer code was reading cam position sensor. I dont believe that would cause a no power to fuel pump. It is trying to turn and it will turn with...

If it is similar to Quest, the fuel pump runs for 5 seconds when you turn the key to ON. Then, unless the engine is running, the pump shuts off. It runs when the key is in START position though. Can you hear the pump run for 5 seconds when you turn key to ON? Listen carefully for the hum of the pump in the tank.
Normally, the power relay powers up the PCM and it applies power to the fuel pump relay. Then you get power to the pump.
Also, look at owner manual for all fuses that apply to fuel pump system.
