have you checked the cam belt , sounds like the valve timing has jumped, when was the belt last replaced? it should be done around 100,000 miles, if it did jump time the valves are most likely bent, this is an interference design engine, this means if the cam belt fails or jumps the valves hit the pistons.

Check for spark could be an ignition coil problem or fuel pump or pump relay check to see if your getting fuel coming from the fuel line...an engine needs only 3 things to start Spark ,Fuel and Compression Hope this helped

Check engine light came on my 2004 honda civic ex start it up shakes a minute then runs fine but light stays on

That's because the car is putting itself into "limp"mode. Take it some where to have the code read without the code number it tells me nothing.

On my 2004 accord EX, both rear brake lights don't work (center brake light bar does work). What is the fix? If a fuse, which one? If bulbs, are they hood mounted or fender mounted?

If the center light works then the brake light
switch is working. The brake light bulb is
inside the trunk. The bulb holder rotates
to lock in and out. Ck Autozone, they will
even help you install it.

95 honda civic ex squeals when starting engine

Some of the grime, etc on the engine prior to steam cleaning along with any solvents used may have affected the drive/fan belt. I would suggest you either check tightness of the belt and possibly consider replacing it.
