    sorry. gas gauge going crazy all of a sudden. everything else on dash works fine.

The gas gage sending unit is defective, it is located of course inside the fuel tank.

    seems they the sending units vary so much from one year to the next, im not sure which one to get, or if just getting a float will suffice.

    I do not know where to get the part, but if it is like most Toyota parts the dealer will be the only place to buy something like this, but the problem is the sending unit.

you probably have a problem with the differential in the front it might be no good it looks like a rear end pull the cover off and check the gears

there is no way to fix a rear main leak except to replace it, sorry but if there was a way to jerry rig this every tech would use it.
