There are two things you can do, as seeing that the lights are part of curcuit board inside radio, you can replace it with a used one or remove it and have it repaired,i think its cheaper to replace it with a used one.

How does the display on my CD/radio work?

Sorry to hear the display is blank even though the cd radio appears to function. The display is usually an LCD with back panel lights that makes the characters visible. Most likely the small rice globes behind the panel are blown. Usually needs some sort of desoldering and resoldering to replace. If you can take the player out from the dashboard and take it to the local audio repair shop you will save quite a bit of money to get this fixed.

I am assuming your CD radio looks something like this.

Delco Radio displays and climate control displays remain dark, all GM

Symptom is radio diplay or controls don't light up, Delco CD radio's and Bose preminum sound radio/CD players. Models all GM cars and trucks 1990's to presnt.
This problem is caused by two tiny burnt out bulbs behind the LCD display thay are soldered to the circuit board behind the radio LCD display and can be replaced, this requires the radio be removed and the housing taken off and the front display un-clipped, you will need a low temperature solder pencil and thin strand solder the bulbs are available from Radio Shack, the part number is 272-1092, this is a 2 pack of miniature 12 Volt 60Ma bulbs. This radio display bulb is used in may car models, this bulb also repairs climate control displays as well as other low light displays like switches

Ford 2000 Crown Victoria: radio display is dark. How to fix? Radio is out of car; top and bottom covers removed.

This might be a problem with the radio's back light or the actual LCD layer. The LCD would have your display and the backlight provides the light for the display to be visible. They might be dirty or would need replacing.

My clock radio light does not light up all the way

I'm guessing your dimmer switch is turned up, but part of your display is partially lit, the problem is internal to the radio and the radio would have to be replaced. This is common.
