Problem with Cadillac 2000 Escalade

Cadillac Escalade power window inoperative

Driver's power window was stuck in open position. In the past this problem would occur but eventually "fix" itself, not this time however. I did manage to get window closed for security reasons by toggling the switch and inching window upward with my other hand. I removed driver's door panel for inspection, but was unable to see the pw motor or any mechanisms without further removing any more door components. I concluded I need a qualified repair shop to help solve this problem. At this point I suspect a faulty pw motor, faulty switch and/or jammed mechanisms.

I have the same problem with the passenger door, was able to get it closed by playing with the
switch now it won't open and i hear a cliclking sound when i try to open the window.

    • had the same problem on the pasenger side the dealer replaced the window mechanism. now the same problem is on the driver side,found dirt in the window pully for the steel cable on the motor housing. i suspect in need to replace the mechanism for this to.

It might be your Body Control Module (BCM) which is located under your center console armrest. In my problem the wipers, windows, and radio all dont work at the same time. I can get it to work sometimes by banging on the armrest. You might have to pull out the armrest and replace or securly fasten the BCM. This is the same problem is happening for a similar Make and Year of Cadillac listed on this site.

Window Regulator maybe faulty. A lot of times the motor goes bad on the OEM part and if its an aftermarket part you may have Aacable issue The problem may be detected by listening to the door for motor sounds or grinding noises when the window switch is pressed.

my 1999 cadillac deville window sheild wipers stop working. Also some of the controls to the turn signal and the radio are out. I've been to a mechanic and a dealership technician and no seems to know how to fix the problem. Is this a electrical problem that i can fix myself or some thing i have to take to a technician?

i need help to understand y my truck window wont roll up
