Common problem, you need a new wiper motor. search for issue in fixya, I have explained it a few times, its not real hard but I am not going to rewrite it again. there must also be a video of someone doing it over on Whenyou have the wiper transmission out make sure you squirt all joints and pivots with chain lube and make sure you have the arm which is attached to the motor in the rest position and the wiper switch OFF before you reassemble it. there is a stamping on the wiper transmission telling you where REST is.

How do I reset the home position on the front windshield wipes of a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The bolt holding the transmission came loose and now the park position is out of sink when they are shut off.

remove the bolt and unhock the linkage, next turn on the wipers and then turn the wipers off, this will park the motor , you will then postion wipers in the park postion and put linkage on the motor, this will line the wipers up, good day.

Windshield wipers

the fix is so simple that all it rquires is a screwdriver. flathead.

its quite difficult to explain but i will give it a shot.

the parking cam on the wiper motor transmission is missing the activation lever. you need to remove the wiper arms, the plastic cowl cover, and the plastic wiper transmission cover. than use that flat head screwdriver to bend the activation lever back into place so the parking cam can catch on it.

and do yourself a favor. clear the ice and snow from the cowl of your car next winter and you wont have this problem again.
