If you are a short tempered fumble fingered f**k then this is beyond you. Otherwise just look in your owner's manual, generally just a GENTLE squeeze on the lens, to clear a plastic tang, allows the cover to be taken off and the bulb just unscrews or unplugs.

Whoever was asking this was not asking about changing the dome light bulb. He was asking about the Dome light Swithch. This is in the latche of the door... and it is a pain to get to.
If you do not have a shop with a lot of tools (including drills and taps to drill and replace rivets) then this is not for you. Even if you do have this capability you still might think about talking to the dealer. They'll tell you about $450 to fix it. How much is the automatic dome light worth to you

2002 VW Golf emission warning light was on. In garage yesterday for repair - part replaced. Light on again to day! Any ideas.

The shop failed to properly diagnose the OBD Codes
or verify the repairs

I would guess there was no road test following any work,
or any scan tool data looked at,on a road test, or driven
long enough to have all the Emission Monitors run

Should have kept it a day & done a better job

Ihave a 2001 vw golf 2.0l, the EPC light has come on. I,ve connected a fault code reader and it,s come up with code 16955 does anyone know the problem please.

Code points to "Cruise/Brake Switch (A) Circ Malfunction" which means the switch or connections might be bad. Most VW's of this era had a recall on brake switch, check with dealer to see if your car had it replaced. Stop lights might be out, cruise not working. Replace switch if any of these conditions present.

Is it worth buying a code reading instrument if the check engine light comes on and diagnosing yourself? If so what type of code reader is good to buy for a 2001 VW Golf?

code readers are generic and work with all systems from 1996 up, so any reader will do, buy the cheapest one u can find, ebay is a good source for this type of tool.

The interior light on my vw golf r32 stays on when all doors and boot is closed? Where is the sensor located?

Hi, one of your door pressure switches are sticking or, may be disconnected or broken. these pressure switches are located within the inner side of each door frame. they are usually housed where the door hinges are located. you can replace these switches.

make sure it isnt a wiring issue before you buy new pressure switches.

Please rate and have a great day:)

One more thing. make sure the dome light(interior light), switch isn't set to ON. if its set to ON, it will continue to illuminate even if the doors are closed.
