What kind of work was done on your car...Dose it leak Radiator fluid That you know of? If the thermostat is Installed wrong then Call The Shop That Worked on your Car And let them know about th issue..but if you don't wan't to bother with them than the thermostat is a really easy fix.

How do I stop my 01 explorer from 0ver heating. I already replaced water pump thermostat and radiator

Since you have done the basics, more information is needed. Under what conditions does it overheat, and how severely? Only when at idle for several minutes? Could be bad fan clutch or missing/damaged fan shroud. Severely overheats so bad you can't drive it at all? Blown head gasket? You can often diagnosis this by running with radiator cap removed and see bubbles in the radiator, or also look for water in oil, or oil in the coolant. Also, check with parts store. I think certain years of these run a reverse direction water pump, and if you get the wrong one they will overheat badly.

Have replaced my thermastat in 99 cav. 2 cyl. 3 x's, thermostat's are good they opened in boiling hot water, but when I put them in car they dont open up and car overheats very quickly, I have been driving...

Make sure that the gasket is put in right. If put in wrong, it can keep the thermostat from opening. Also make sure that you put the thermostat in the right. The sensor coil or slug goes toward the engine. The thermostat should be stamped showing the proper direction. I would go ahead and buy a new one just to be sure. They are cheap.

We have a 2004 Jeep cherokee, when we tow a trailer (1500kgs) the car overheats and all the water goes, been into jeep and they cant find anything wrong pressure / gas tested, but still happening, any...

I would change the thermostat and put a lower in there so for example if you have a 195 degree one in there go to like a 170 or 180 so your thermastat opens sooner and it shouldn't overheat and also check the timing cause if the timing is off a little under a load it could overheat.

My scerity sys went off and I my car over heats I think it needs a new thermastat

maybe your security system monitors engine temp ... it doesnt have to be the thermastat thats bad .. it could be the radiator fan switch or relay bad .. you can tell which by the following.
1. if it overheats only when idling or in heavy traffic but does not overheat while on the road (moving) then your problem is more likely the radiator fan switch, relay or fan motor ..
2. if your car overheats all the time even while driving then it could be the thermostat ..

check belts, coolent level and radiator clogging ..

My Jeep overheats while sitting idle. When I drive, the gauge goes down quickly. I have had thermostat and fan changed. I have also had the radiator flushed. What can it be?

we have a 2003 and it did the very same thing . Its called cooling fan relay it costs about 60.00 and is located behind the headlight assembly . not very hard to fix if you know anything about cars .

Both fans come on i change the thermastat not sure if it seat rit

check the wire harness connection for the 2 fans. sometimes when there loose they arc. that will cause your car to overheat because the fan doesnt come on when it is suppose causing the car to overheat.

1999deville overheating,i have replaced water pump, thermastat, headgaskets, new lid, still over heats, help! overheats faster when air is on.

a few other things you can look for,#1 make sure your two fans are operating and the temperature control switch (check a manual for its location) is working, 15 dollars, it tells the p.c.m. the engine needs to get cool! the fans sometimes don't come on when we wait for them, they also have their Owen relays, most are found under the fans, make sure they are o.k, they catch a lot off the element's, hope this helps and good luck to u..
