These cars are well known for bad ignition switches and ignition lock cylinders. The switches get hot and melt wires causing start problems after motor has been running for 30 minutes or more.HOPE THIS HELPS!!

1995 pontiac grand prix does not start. the key reads 30ohms resistance and that is what I get at the wires coming from the ignition. all fuses under hood good. dash lights up but when i turn the key...

Not sure what part of the key you are measuring or the significance.

Your car might be fitted with an immobiliser and if it is it could be malfunctioning but the vehicle handbook is the best source of information about this.

Your description could equally indicate faulty ignition/starter switch, connections, wiring or starter relay if fitted.
