Remove the drive shaft and see if the car moves then. if it does then your training needs to be looket and could be as simple as the shifting linkage to the training if it does'nt then you have a problem bexause it means your rearend has locked up.

For the linkage parts to be accessed inside the car you woud locate the screws in the rear of the center console and on both sides and front of it and if this one has a arm rest glove box then there is at least one screw inside it. Once all screws are removed then remove the shifter handle to lift the console around it. Look for abnormalities in the linkage if you are not sure take a picture of it and send to me at This is sounding like your linkage at tour shifter may have come loose and it is not coming out of park. Do this before going to the trouble and time consuming effort of removing the drive shaft to check the rearend. and rather than going in to a detailed explanation here on how to do that for about nine bucks at autozone you can pick up a detailed repair book that you can refer back yo as you go.

1996 ford explore wont move forward are backward

try checking the transmission fluid level (engine running) also make sure the transfer case isn't in neutral. If the transmission is bad take it to the scrap metal recycler and sell it, it isn't worth repairing unless it is a exceptionally nice 96 Exploder.

I have a 1993 lincoln continental thats starts and put it on drive and it wont move forward or backwards

Not much a home mechanic can do to an automatic transmission. Check your transmission fluid level, if it is at the proper level you will need to take the car to a professional.

Car will start but will not move forward or backwards can u help?

Mke sure that the transmission is working. you can tell if the engine rpm changes when you put it gear (forward or reverse) if it does not then you need to check the level of the transmission fluid for an automatic or you may have clutch problems if it is a manual transmission. if you have more details on the transmission type (auto or manual) and if it is doing anything when you try to get it to move that would be helpful.

1996, stuck in park shifter moves fine, but car will not roll in neutral, but if i rock car back and forth it will pop out of park and then i can drive forward and backwards just fine. as soon as i put it...

The park pawl is spring loaded and it sounds like that spring has broken. The problem is, the trany has to be removed from the car and completely disassembled to fix it. The linkage for park is all mechanical, the transmission could be completely out of fluid and park should still work. I guess, I would get into the habbit of setting the park brake, then put the car in park and pull it out of park, before you release the park brake. You could also leave the shifter in the neutral position and set the park brake. This will allow you to start the car but you won't be able to remove the key. Hopefully the brake cables are not all rusted up. Good luck.

Car wont roll forward or back even in neutral

I assume it's a manual transmission.
If the car will not roll backward or forward in neutral (with or without the clutch engaged) the transmission is most likely locked in two gears at the same time.
This may happen if gear selectors are excessively worn. If you are able to examine the gear selection levers external to the gearbox, ensure they are in the 'neutral' (no gear selected) position when the gear lever is in Neutral. If not in correct position, you may be able to manually reset the levers to correct neutral position and thereby unlock the gearbox.
In any case, if it's happened once, it will happen again, so get the gearbox and gear selection mechanism checked for wear or breakage.

95 mazda 626 automatic transmition....will not reverse

Check you transmission fluid level and if it's not your transmission, I'm thinking that your brake shoe lineing in the rear brakes may have separated and is jamming up aginst the drums when your trying to back up. Sorry can't halp you with any more, good luck and start with that and hope it help's.
