Turn signal flasher won't stop

Have a 98 Blazer. Sounds like the turn signal is on although no lights are flashing. Stops when you apply the brakes. Replaced the flasher module behind the gove box. Now it makes a buzzing noise. Any ideas?

same as above flasher won't stop

I had similar, signal wouldn't make the artificial "clicking" sound they have computer make now immitating the old mechanical blinker mechanism. It wouldn't just "click-click..." but then would let out a burst of "saved up" clicks or so it seemed, not smoothly or at same rate, very irregular rate, random. I had the dealer fix it, said it was the hazard light switch actually sending erroneous clicks by shorting... didn't make sense as it didn't explain why signal didn't work. Cost $700... ouch. Dealer just causes problems each time I take it in.

Did you get resolution to this? My 1999 Jeep Wrangler is having the same problem. What do I do to fix it? The buzzing noise is in the flasher. The old flasher clicked like turn signal was on. Not sure why the new one buzzes?

I have a 2000 Chev Blazer doing same thing. Intermittently sounds like blinker is on when it shouldn't be, but no lights actually flash. Applying breaks, or pressing and holding the hazzard switch all the way down will make the sound go away.

When using the signal or the hazzards, all lights work exactly as they should! I replaced the flasher, and checked all bulbs, but it did not resolve the issue. Jiggling turn signal lever has no affect, but tapping break switch can sometimes get it to stop for a while.

    1998 Silverado K1500
Same as above with a new addition, the old flasher unit would click and I saw smoke coming out next to the hazard switch.

New flasher unit buzzes as described by others.

IT's the MULIT SWITCH!! I had the same problem, replaced it (about $150) and it's all good now! Don't listen to those $ hungry mechanics.

I believe you'll find the problem is on the, or IN the, switch arm. The turn signal arm has several switches in it and they get dirty...you can either...take the whole assembly off and replace it with a new one..cost around $150 for the part...or take it apart and clean and regrease it using electrical grease.....oooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr just live with it as we have done for 7 years now...

I have had it thoroughly checked out by 2 mechanics. Apparently the problem is the ABS system. The cost has not permitted me to get it fixed.

Double check all the bulbs. Sometimes both filaments will touch each other cause a back feed from the brake light to the turn signal flasher stopping its action. Sounds weird, but it has happened before.

2005 Suburban brake signal light issue

Sounds like a faulty turn signal switch. The brake light wire is routed through the turn switch, so it appears the turn switch has gone crazy.

under the dash near the steering column will be a unit called the electronic flasher module (don't know exact location as it varies, but it will be labeled). It sounds like the unit has gone bad
