Thank you. I did check the trunk latch and it is working. The fuse is the dome fuse for the trunk?

Thank you, I believe you, but my husband told me to be sure that was what you said. I plan to go check that at lunch.

First let's check the DOME FUSE 7.5A located on the left (driver's) side of the under dash fuse box. Remove fuse, check if it is OK and reinsert/replace try release handle. On the other hand, your trunk is probably stuck closed, that's why it won't grab the trunk door. Use the key on the latch like if you where to open the trunk, make sure the latch retracts, if not, use a small screw driver to help retract it while the key is on the OPEN position. Apply some lithium grease on the latching mechanism if it is slow or stuck. your door should be able to close now.

    Keep me posted!!

That's the fuse that protects the trunk circuit. I have a wiring diagram but this site do not allow us to send images larger than 150k. If you provide an email address I'll send them to you.

I don't have a key for the trunk and the trunk release lever is not working. How can I get the trunk open?

The rear seat backing will have to be removed to access the paneling and lock assembly to open if the lever/remote is non functioning. Sometimes banging with your fist just above the lock while someone operates the release lever will open the trunk

How to open 2005 honda accord trunk release not working

If release lever is not functional, use key. If key will not turn in cylinder, spray WD-40 into cylinder and use sawing motion to get key inserted and continue sawing motion to free up lock wafers internal to cylinder so it will turn with key. If this process is not effective, you will need to remove rear seat to access paneling to trunk lock and open accordinly

Trunk wont open

Can you hear the lock click? You might need another person to listen while you activate the unlock mechanism. Can it be opened by a key? If so, try that. If it doesn't open, give a little push-down-and-release on the trunk lid while the key is in the unlock position.

If the lock makes no sound upon actuating an electric or lever-and-cable trunk-lid release, the problem is not user serviceable for the average car owner.

I could probably do the job, but I wouldn't, because it's too much work compared to the cost of an auto mechanic.

My lever wont open my gas door....help i need gas.actually even the trunk lever wouldnt open the trunk.....finally the trunk lever i was able to pull up and then i couldnt ...

Hello. Here is what I need you to do:

Have someone pull the gas door release. With a credit card, or something like it, popsicle stick, nail file, etc, insert it at the side of the door that opens, not the hinged side. While your assistant is pulling the lever, see if you can manually pull the door open. If it opens, you have a broken fuel door spring. Toyota parts depts sell them for 3 dollars. The spring is there to "pop" the door open, when you pull the lever. If it is broken, and they break rather often, it needs replaced.

Fuel Door will not open

the cable from the lever to the door has broken. If you look inside the trunk, (sometimes you will have to pull the carpeted side down) right behind the gas door, you will find a short emergency release cable with a loop on the end - grab and pull the loop and your gas door should pop open.
