It's most likely your tappets! Check your engine oil level, when this is low the hydraulic tappets get noisier or they could be just worn!

If it is when you turn the wheel sharp, my subaru had the same problem. I had the CV axles replaced and it stopped doing it.

If there is a crack on the engine accessories mounts, there are possibilities of ticking noise due to stress on the metal. Replace the broken mounts to overcome the problem.

The exhaust system on your car is stainless steel, and it heats and cools quickly, there is nothing wrong with this. all your hearing is the joints in the exhaust system expanding and contracting. My 2007 impreza 2.5 does the same thing. And when you turn car off the system is cooling off and contracting.
