Question about Renault Megane
In front footwells they are both soaking wet also in the compartments in the floor at the back where the passangers put there feet both of those areas have about 1 inch deep of water.
can you help please
could not find corrospondiong model of my car on drop down menu but this is the description as follows- renault megane scenic t registration.
The sunroof drainage gets blocked.
your footwells will fill with water - even under your seats right to the back seats footwells
See two 10mm holes in front sides when sunroof is open.
a) push a flexible cable down from the top - it comes out just behind the front wheels. (use electric three core cable - or TV aerial cable - a hanger is too short) - you need about a metre and a half)
b) remove the inner mudgaurd behind the front wheels (2 screws) you will see the end of the plastic drainage pipes - remove the blocked black rubber cup at the end of these - why they are there is anybody's guess)

Take off the covers in the front wheel arches and you will find the drain holes for the heater inlet's blocked with dirt, this is a common problem with all Renault's, when these get blocked the rain water will be found in the driver and passenger foot wells and rear passenger foot-wells,

This is a common problem on facelift scenics open the front sunroof and look in the front corners by the runners and you will see a 10mm drain hole this runs all the way down to the rear of the front wheels these become blocked and the rain water then builds up and overflows into the headlining / console / or overflows the tube into and around the heater blower by passenger footwell and the sponge underlay absorbs it hence having a constant puddle its the same principle with rear sunroof - simply put something like a coat hanger wire down the hole and try to unblock then test but pouring water on the roof and see if it runs out by front wheels or inside the car?? hope this is of some help PRESTIGE AUTOCARE

MY SCENIC WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE BUTTONS THAT control the SUNROOF. after many months of hair tearing i found the solution. The black sealant used to seal the windscreen on the inside was hard and dried out with age. I bought some new sealant - re sealed the windscreen on the inside top part. Hey presto. no more wet seats and footwells

The seal between the window and roof tend to leak for some reason a smear of black silicone sealer may do the trick takeing care not to get it all over the window and roof

Could be that the drains from the roof are blocked. Our laguna leaked a lot (we kept a bowl inthe foot well for bailing the water out) for ages but suddenly stopped after a very heavy storm, was told that the heavy storm may have cleared them through. Not sure how true this is, however have find that if it starts leaking again, all i have to do is remove leaves etc from the area below the windscreen and it stops leaking again.
