The starter is located in front of the motor between the radiator and the oil pan. There is two bolts that reqires a thirteen wrench or socket to remove it. Disconnect the battery first before you start.The bottom bolt is usually a stud that hols the ground wire from the battery. Remove the nut from the stud, than the ground wire, than the stud. Than remove the top bolt. Remove the two wires from the starter and you have it

either you took out the wrong bolt by the trans.... or the pin is stuck ... give it a whack with a mallet
should of taken out 2 ,13 mm bolts

2004 Ford Taurus. Installed after market Prestige starter. model: APS-620N. Door lock and unlock work. Trunk works. Parking light do NOT light up when programming or locking/unlocking doors. Not receiving...

If this problem started just by changing the starter, either there is a wire unhooked or somehow switched, I do not think the starter would cause that as long as it was the right starter. It should have been identical to the old starter.

One of your positive battery cables goes to the starter motor. Dis connect negative battery cable. Safely raise and support the vehicle. You'll have to remove front splash guard from underneath. Ant time your working under a vehicle there are safety issues, safety is your responsibility.

2004 Ford Taurus Dash and taillight fuse keeps blowing..

it sounds like who ever hooked up the remote starter may have crossed wires I would recommend takeing it back to who installed the remote starter and have them look to make sure something is not crossed in the system

hello check your starter solenoid to make sure its not sticking when you release the key lightly tap while someone turns over if it stops most likely needs replacing one other thing is the shims between the block and the starter there may be to many wich would keep the starter drive from fully engaging to your flywheel when they replaced your starter i am taking they did check the teeth on the flywheel goodluck please rate
