I need to replace my front struts and coil assembly, but I cant find the one that fits this. can I use the quick assembly strut or is it suppose to be done separately?

the front strut is an outer case that has the coil spring around it and an inner insert which is the king pin and shocky assembly that is attached to the rubber and bearing in the inner guard
to replace , you have to remove the strut from the car then undo the retainer nut that holds the insert in
the insert is a common item and the job can be done inside the hour per side at any accredited front end specialist shop
you will need a front end wheel alignment done after the job
unless you are trained in the procedure , the coil spring will cause injury if not controlled during the procedure

How do I replace rear strut and spring

Replace it as a unit. Strut, spring, strut mount all in one. It's called a quick strut. Raise car by the body not the wheel. Remove brake line (1 bolt) from strut lower. Remove 2 large bolts holding lower strut end. In the trunk 3 smaller bolts hold the strut mount (upper end) in place. DO NOT remove the single large nut at the top of the strut assembly. Wiggle the strut assembly out. Slide the new strut assembly in bolt it back in. Put wheel back on. Done.

1992 Toyota Celica is not equipped with front "shocks". This vehicle is equipped with front wheel drive and independent MacPherson strut front suspension. Any repairs made to this system requires the removal of the entire strut assembly, which includes the strut, the coil spring and upper strut bearing assembly.

Replacement of any of the parts of the strut assembly requires the use of specialized equipment designed to compress and hold the coil spring to relieve the tension on the strut and upper bearing assembly.

Any attempt to disassemble the strut assembly without the proper equipment for compressing and securely holding the coil spring can result in SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH.

How do you change the rear struts? Top strut bolts are hidden cant find them

The following information is specifically for a 1998 Mercury Mystique. We just replaced the rear struts on my son's 1998 Mercury Mystique yesterday.
1. The Mystique's rear strut assembly is fastened at the top with only two (2) bolts, period, and these are accessed from below. They are 10mm bolts, only, no nuts, and bolt into threads built into the frame.
2. We found you must disconnect the brake lines from the wheel hub thing, period, in order to get that whole bit to drop low enough to install the new strut assembly.
3. As well, you must at least disconnect, if not just replace (~$9) the sway bar links.
4. Do not bother with any spring compressors as they will not help (you can't leave them on the assembly AND fit it up into the tower).
5. After doing the above and dropping the wheel thing as low as possible, we first bolted the assembly by the top bolts up in the tower.
6. Then we used the car's jack to jack the wheel thing upward, easing it onto the bottom end of the strut until the flange hole at the back of the strut aligned with the pinch bolt hole; along the way, though, I believe when the alignment was right for it, we reconnected the new sway bar linkage.
7. Then reconnected the brake line assembly.
8. Note, although it was probably a metric size (18 or 19 mm?), we used a 1/2" drive, 3/4" socket and had to put a section of pipe on the wrench to loosen the pinch bolt.
9. Don't forget to spray PB blaster on things the night before, and to spread some, to the extent you are able, the pinch bracket or whatever it's called.

How do I compress the front strut enough to get the nut on when replacing a 1997 Chrysler cirrus front strut?

One needs a special tool called a 'spring compressor' to compress the front strut spring enough to remove the nut on the strut. Very dangerous without the tool. Must use the spring compressor to service the strut assembly, or get a loaded strut/spring assembly to replace old strut assembly.

Good luck on this.

The struts model (MacPherson Strut),are both in front and back of this car.

2000 - 2006 Hyundai Elantra Shock Absorber and Strut Assembly - Rear, Passenger Side, KYB GR-2/EXCEL-G, Twin tube, Strut Assembly $68

1996 - 2006 Hyundai Elantra Shock Absorber and Strut Assembly - Front, Passenger Side, KYB GR-2/EXCEL-G, Twin tube, Strut Assembly $63
Of course this is only the cartridge, you have to transfer the spring, and the top mount of the existing strut. You need a pair of coil spring compressor to do the job. The basic procedure to replace a strut is:
Remove the top nuts that secure the strut assembly to the frame mount inside the engine compartment. Do not remove the center nut.
Mark the lower strut mounting location on the hub for installation reference. The alignment will be close if the new strut is installed in the same position.
Remove the bolts that hold the strut assembly to the hub.
Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
Mark the top mount for installation reference. Using a side mounted spring compressor, compress the spring and remove the top nut and retaining washer. Pull strut assembly out from the bottom of spring.
Slide the new strut assembly up into the spring and reposition the top mount onto the spring in the same position that it was removed. Install the retaining washer and top nut.
Tighten the top nut to the manufacturer's specifications and carefully remove the spring compressor.
Place the strut assembly back into the vehicle.
