Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora

1 Answer

Same error codes and have changed plugs and wires already. I even went as far as buying another coil and ignition module (the entire brick) but it still reads the same codes.

Disconnect you battery for an hour so it can dumb up the computer. Then see if the error message reapears.

My 1994 cavalier lost spark to cylinders 1 and 4. Which components are directly related to ignition spark and timing? What about the camshaft sensor?

You listed all the components involved in spark timing and control- coil, ignition module, pcm, wires, plugs, crank sensor, and cam sensor.
Cylinders 1 and 4 have the same coil for both, so concentrate on that coil. You still have a good blue spark on cylinders 2 and 3? If you have spark there, I don't know about the cam sensor-I think it would be good if it works at all. You need to check if you have 12 volts power to the coil for 1 and 4.

My 99 s10 2.2l 5spd will start fine when its cold out, but when it warms up it will have trouble starting i usually have to keep turning it over for a few seconds before it will even crank ive already...

Ignition control module or the coil connection, When the engine is cold, there is less resistance that electron needs to overcome.,Right at the location where you replaced spark plug wire where the coils sit is the ignition control module,Any poor connection in that are would result in your description.

04' Ram 1500, bad mis-fire. cust repl s/plugs. no help. Codes for coils #7 & 8 w/mis-fire. replaced coils & wire set. Better, but still P0300. Compression good

You still have random misfires (PO300)
You most likely replaced those coils that set a code, and those were not the one bad offender, spiking the computer module.
Take a new coil and put in a cylinder,no change, replace old coil and move new one to next cylinder. You can do that once or twice a day, if you have nothing else to do. You need a 90 degree day, to really get that solved, unless you have an ignition oscilloscope.
Never had a bad spark plug in 45 years.

Ignition module where do I find it.

The ignition coils are mounted on it. Just follow the spark plug wires.
