SOURCE: 1999 mercury villager brakes lights

check the brake light switch. It could be defective and it costs less than $30 and easy to replace. Buy an OEM from the dealer instead of a $10 one from the auto parts store. It is located above the brake pedal.

You fill the 1999 mercury villager up with water and drive a little piece and the water is gone and the van quits and runs bad and if you put water in it the neck of radiator throws it back out

it's rare but you may have a blown head gasket. Check for a coolant leak in the small hoses under the upper intake, chek the hose from the radiator to the plastic reservoir.
